Edutainment by the Principal (for all):
The “Edutainment by the Principal” seminar is a powerful testimony of how life dreams can be easily destroyed in a matter of seconds. Drug abuse, depression, bullying, peer pressure, and a multitude of other distractors are just a few examples of how real these life experiences can be for any one of us. Through the power of faith, self-determination, and music, Dr. Jenkins was able to turn his life around. As an educator, Dr. Jenkins continues to use his unique gift and passion for hip-hop Music to both educate and entertain audiences all over the country.
Although the “Edutainment by the Principal” seminar is available as a standalone package, it is most effective when combined with the three packages featured below. Please feel free to select the presentations that best suit the needs of your particular group.
Dreamers and Doers (for parents and guardians):
LTM believes that most parents and guardians inherently want what’s best for their children but are not always sure what that may be. When their children struggle in school academically or socially, this can be a time of great anxiety for any parent or guardian. This workshop illustrates how parents can partner with educators to provide support and guidance to their children in ways that would not be possible working alone. Parents and guardians will leave empowered to be more active in their child’s education and with a better sense of empathy for the struggles of educators.
Hearts and Minds (for educators):
Imagine taking the greatest educators in the country and putting them in a classroom where a language barrier prevents communication. Despite their skill and years of experience, these educators would be hard pressed to teach with a high degree of effectiveness. This is the dilemma that many educators face today as they attempt to bridge cultural and generational gaps that divide them from their student population. This workshop illustrates that despite cultural and generational boundaries, all students understand and respond to the language of honesty and respect. By focusing on these and other key traits, educators will leave with all of tools they need to communicate more effectively and form more meaningful relationships with their students.
No Pressure (for students):
In a world where youth is king and the focus of the times are as changeable as fashion, only those children who have a great sense of self will be able to live above the influence of their peers. This workshop illustrates the importance of “identity”. It further examines how children who are not able to create a positive identity for themselves will have their identity dictated to them by their peers. Once these roles are assigned, children will instinctively live out these archetypes. Some all-too-familiar archetypes are the class clown, the jock, and the school bully. The archetypes of today may be far more severe and include drug abusers and criminals. The “No Pressure” workshop is built to have children walk away with a renewed sense of self-respect and self-esteem. These two factors combined have the ability to work in tandem in empowering children to take ownership of their destiny for the better, instead of allowing it to be dictated by others for the worst.
